The military life moves quickly; when you find the love of your life and they are in the service romance sometimes needs to take a backseat. Kaitlynn and Mike have been married for two years, have two handsome sons together and to celebrate their second anniversary wanted some ‘real’ wedding photos! I met Kaitlynn when Mike returned from a deployment earlier this year, she was still pregnant with their second son and he made it home just in time because two days later she went into labor! I was honored to help celebrate their love, we went to Cabrillo National Monument in Point Loma and Kaitlynn’s mom was on hand to help with her two of her grandchildren. Happy (now belated) Anniversary!
Nothing makes my day like seeing my clients again, especially when they have a new family member to introduce to the world! A few weeks back I got to meet the Tober’s newest family member, Lincoln, for his newborn shoot in San Diego, CA. You probably remember his handsome older brother Theo, both of these boys are going to be serious heart breakers! Lincoln’s newborn photos are not traditional, we did a lifestyle shoot to show how life goes with a newborn, older brother, and preparing for a cross country move! Lifestyle shoots are and excellent option if your looking for something unique to your family (they’re also cheaper than a traditional newborn shoot).
I’m so lucky to have met Clare, Mike, Theo and Lincoln; the navy life brings wonderful people into your world that you would have never met otherwise and I’m honored to capture some of their memories while they were stationed here. <3 Until we meet again!
Capt. Jason Newsom returned home to his family after 7 months overseas at Camp Pendleton earlier this month! I had the pleasure of meeting his wonderful wife Pricilla and their handsome son, I had a great time talking and getting to know about them while waiting for Marines to arrive. Their son even has a knack for photography and was very into learning how the camera worked! As a military wife myself I can relate to the huge array of emotions that come with homecomings! The Marine Corps Community Services of Camp Pendleton, MCCSCP, provided a bouncy house and inflated obstacle course to keep all the kiddos occupied while they waited; needless to say it those were a huge hit! I know the Newsom’s are happy to be back together and I was honored to document this time in their lives for them!
The wonderful Eubanks family is heading overseas to Italy this week! According to Google Translate the title of this blog means, 'See you later Eubanks Family!' in Itallian. This military family has traveled a LOT and have the coolest stories about where they've been and the people they've met. Their son has the adventure bug like his parents; this kiddo had ZERO fear of the ocean, his dad was knee deep in the El Nino waters of La Jolla Shores in San Diego, CA keeping him from going swimming. Those of you that know me, I love a kid that loves the ocean! I really enjoyed shooting this family portrait session and I hope
I got to go on an adventure to Los Penasquitos Canyon Preserve with Landa, Gary and their kiddo Carlos for their family portraits!
The Clarks are getting into the holiday spirt! Their family portraits were taken in Pacific Beach in San Diego, CA. Enjoy!
I had the pleasure of photographing the return of the new Chief Droughn! While out to sea he made Chief, which is a HUGE deal, and his family was given VIP access to his homecoming. For those of you who don't know how a navy ship homecoming works; the first people off are the big wigs of the boat (captain, etc.) then come the winners of the first kiss raffle (spouses at home enter a chance to have their sailor come off the boat in the first wave to get that first smooch) then come the new dads (where I always cry) and then the new chiefs! Being a VIP is so cool, there's food, chairs, local San Diego mascots from our attractions and you are literally next to the carrier! The Droughn kids were great sports by letting me take their photo the entire time, the helped their mom put the finishing touches on their sign and flew past the news reporters standing between them and their dad! I had to fight the reporters, camera man and photojournalists away to get there, hopefully the people that got my elbows to their ribs survived ok. ;) Overall, this was one of the most memorable homecomings and I'm honored to have photographed it! <3
I got to meet the Brown's for their underwater maternity portrait session in San Diego, CAlast month! It might be obvious, but I love everything underwater. They do not want to know the gender of the baby until they arrive. This couple is amazing, they have such great chemistry and such a wonderful 'how they met' story. Its shoots like this that remind me why I love what I do and what an honor it is to capture these moments in peoples lives!
